What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic Medicine is a primary health care profession that focuses on addressing the root cause of illness while naturally supporting the body to return to homeostasis. The practice of Naturopathic Medicine views the body as a whole and treatments are created on an individual basis.
What education and training is required to be a Naturopathic Doctor?
Naturopathic doctors in British Columbia require a four year undergraduate degree (which includes premedical sciences), a four year Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (from one of the seven North American accredited schools), completion of two sets of Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) and passing the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC) board exams.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
Your first appointment will be at least an hour long in-depth look at your past medical history, current health state, future health goals, and includes a physical exam. Dr. Weiss wants to hear your story so she can get a holistic perspective to determine what diagnostics and treatments are appropriate for you.
Are pharmaceuticals, IV therapy, or injections prescribed?
Dr. Weiss does not offer any pharmaceuticals, IV therapy, or injections.
